To End Impunity Colloquium in Brusselles

Wednesday November 6th 2019 from 10 am to 12 noon an open colloquium among journalists, internazional organisations, media, trade unions, NGOs and others who wanto the press be free, was held in Bruxelles by initiative of Ossigeno per l’Informazione in cooperation with the Brussells Press Club.

The venue was the Press Club (rue Froissart 95). The discussion was introduced by Adeline Hulin (Unesco). The following speakers were as follow: Suzanne Vanderzande (DGCnet, European Commission), Alberto Spampinato (Oxygen for Information), Paolo Borrometi (press agency deputy AGI), Ernest Sagaga (International Federation of Journalists, Human Rights for IFJ-EFJ) , Tom Gibson (Committee for the Protection of Journalists – CPJ), Andrew Cutting (Council of Europe), Charlotte Michils (Union of Flemish journalists VVJ), Marino Ficco (associations Basta and Libera-Francia).

The debate took place in English and French without translation. New data on threats and intimidation were provided to journalists and proposals were presented to punish impunity for these crimes and to support the work of reporters.
