Verano trial: the prosecutordemands 6 years

Sentence requested for the members of Forza Nuova and Avanguardia Nazionale accused of aggression and robbery of a journalist and a photographer of L’Espresso.

The request was made on the 25th of February 2020, by the public prosecutor in the trial underway in Rome in relation to the attacks on a journalist and a photographer of the weekly L’Espresso, which happened on January 7th 2019 at the Verano Cemetery while a commemoration of the dead at Acca Larenzia was underway. The prosecutor Eugenio Albamonte asked for sentences of six years in prison for both Giuliano Castellino, leader of Forza Nuova, and for Vincenzo Nardulli of Avanguardia Nazionale. He recognised the offences of injury and aggravated robbery as they had violently taken possession of the mobile phone of the victims.

OXYGEN LEGAL AID – The reporter Federico Marconi and the photographer Paolo Marchetti are assisted in court by Ossigeno’s Legal Aid Office, through the lawyer Andrea Di Pietro. Ossigeno per l’informazione was a civil party in the trial to protect the freedom of information, seriously threatened in this affair.
