Monza. Threats against Fabrizio Gatti. Businessman sentenced to 14 months

The court condemned Mario Barzaghi, former vice-president of Confindustria Monza and Brianza for private violence and threats against the journalist of l’Espresso

Sentenced to 8 months in prison, with suspended sentence, also the daughter, Letizia Anna Brambilla. The facts date back five years ago.

On 10 April 2013 Fabrizio Gatti was carrying a journalistic investigation into criminal infiltrations in northern Italy interviewing Barzaghi. At the end of the interview the businessman had forcibly restrained Gatti inside his studio threatening him with death and trying to get him to cancel the registration just made (read).

For that investigation Gatti had also been reported by Barzaghi as well as by the former mayor of Seregno, Giacinto Mariani, and a commander of the carabinieri with claims for damages amounting to 28 million euro (read the previous Ossigeno news).

l’Espresso announced the sentence on February 27, 2018 (read).
