News so rarely published that it needs to be sought with a lantern – 123 unanswered questions

A blind eye by the Italian media is turned towards the phenomenon of the intimidation of journalists . Why? By choice? Unintentionally? How  do reporters and newspaper editors respond?

123 journalists threatened in Italy in the first 3 months of 2020. 

These episodes of violence and abuse at the same time constitute a violation of the right to information – The report includes the names and details of the episodes “verified “ through the Ossigeno Method and those “probable” – It refers also to what other observation centres have reported.

The 77 “verified ” intimidations from January-March 2020 and their names.

Between the 1st  January and the 31st March 2020 the intimidations occurred in Tuscany, Lazio, Campania, Emilia Romagna, Sicily, Piedmont, Lombardy, Marche, Puglia, Calabria, Friuli Venezia Giulia. The report contains the names of the targeted reporters and the details of each episode

The 46 “probable” intimidations from 1 January to 31 March 2020

The report contains the names and details of the incidents classified by Ossigeno in the period 1st January – 31st March 2020 and reported to the authorities .
